Beach cleanup days
We are currently working on a schedule for once per month Beach Cleanup Days in Cottage Line. We are looking for Ocean View Businesses willing to sponsor the Beach Cleanup Days by donating trash bags, disposable gloves, a dumpster for accumulated trash and pick up poles or extended plyers.
Currently The Bold Mariner sponsors a Beach Cleanup Day on the last Sunday of each month. The reward for your 1-2 hour participation is a free drink ticket and more importantly the knowledge that you made a difference in keeping our beaches and surrounding streets clean and safe.
Holiday tree lighting
We are bringing back the Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration to OV Community Park. This Annual Tradition ceased during Covid. Its time that we bring back this wonderful Tradition for the children. Your Ocean View Civic Leagues (Bayview, Cottage Line, East Ocean View, West Ocean View, Pinewell and Willoughby) combined with the Ocean View Business Association – otherwise known as the Ocean View Alliance (OVA) are sponsoring this event.
Mr. and Mrs. Santa will be greeting children, there will be a petting zoo, face painting, Tree Ornament crafts and Carolers!
The Celebration will be on November 29th from 3pm to 6pm (Rain date is December 6th).
Downtown illumination parade
The Cottage Line Civic League will be participating in this Annual Norfolk Tradition as part of the Ocean View Alliance (OVA) of Ocean View Civic Leagues. We plan to enter a float in the parade. As time draws nearer to the Parade, we will put out more news.
